1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in photoshop.
The first step I took to create my identity collage was brainstorming some images that hold symbols to identify what kind of self-portrait I wanted to take. I recognized the symbols and added them to my Photoshop, the next step was photographing my self-portrait. My partner and I grabbed all of our camera equipment and started losing in a way that we thought would benefit our college. After getting the perfect shot we put all of our equipment away and added the image into Lightroom to get rid of some of the imperfections in my self-portrait. I cropped the image in Lightroom as well and added it to my Photoshop. I then experimented with the different blend modes and opacity.
2. Define the terms as they relate to Photoshop: Blend modes, layer masks and adjustment layers. Give a specific example of how you used each of these in your identity collage.
The modes in this project really helped, as the blend mode assisted me in making my project blend in
How does your college represent your identity? What specific images did you use and what do they represent about you?
This helped my identity to show the pressure that I feel not only from myself but from the community as I feel eminence pressure to exceed and feel accomplished. The eyes that are at the top of the mountain express the eyes that are on me to exceed and reach the top. The sea turtle entering the door represents the amount of strength and resilience I am going to need when entering new opportunities and the turtle is covered in water to represent the pressure that I am going to feel along the way. The candle at the lower bottom represents the right in the darkness during the difficult challenges that I face alone I always try and aim to see the light and I think that the candle there represents that perfectly. the community cirle represents the way I am always going o aim and uplifting my community a they do for me but that also comes with a lot of pressure from them.
What was successful in your project? What was unsuccessful and what would you do differently next time to solve this problem?
I strongly believe that my project meets expectations because it meets all of the requirements and is aesthetically beautiful. However, I do not think I excelled because although my project met expectations, I could have done a lot more and created a piece of art that had more significant meaning to me. So overall I belive I was succsessful.
Based on the learning target, what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). Why do you think? Make sure to provide specific evidence.
I believe that my project meets the expectations based on the grading rubric and the grading system because I met all the requirements, also I believe that I truly got a strong understanding of how to ass layer mask and other important Photoshop techniques.
